The challenge
I created Found in Falkirk as a Vertygo-owned project to make local information easier to discover. The aim was to bring businesses, places and events into one useful directory, with consistent listing pages, clear sources and straightforward ways to search by area or category. This is an independently developed Vertygo platform.
What I built
I designed and developed a responsive directory with dedicated sections for local businesses, food and drink, attractions, events and accommodation. Visitors can search listings, filter by town and category, sort results and browse individual location pages. Events include date filters, a weekend view and a free-event option.
Individual listings bring together descriptions, public addresses, source information and website links. Location tools include a map that loads on request, directions links and nearby places. Visitors can save listings on their device and share individual pages.
The platform also includes account access, listing submissions, correction requests and ownership-claim routes. Local guides, walking routes, history and heritage pages and hidden gems extend the directory beyond business listings. Source links and image credits explain where imported information and photography come from.
Found in Falkirk is owned and operated by Vertygo. I continue to develop its content and features alongside the public website.
