DOMAINS EMAIL

Domain registration and business email setup.

Help with domain registration, DNS and business email setup. I check how your existing website and email are connected before recommending changes, with access, ownership and ongoing costs kept clear.

WHAT IT INCLUDES

Connect the right services without losing track of them.

Your domain, website hosting and email can be provided separately. I establish what you already use, what needs changing and who controls each account before making a switch.

Domains and DNS

Identify where the domain is registered, who controls it and which records connect each service. Changes should preserve records that the website does not manage.

  • Domain access and ownership
  • A, AAAA and CNAME records
  • Verification and HTTPS support

Business email setup

A professional mailbox needs the right mail routing and sender records, plus a workable setup on your devices. Moving existing messages is a separate requirement.

  • Mailbox and MX setup
  • SPF and DKIM guidance
  • Device configuration support
WHO IT IS FOR

For a planned move, a new setup or a problem to resolve.

The scope depends on the existing environment and whether email is moving too. A brochure site and a custom application with several databases need different migration work.

HOW IT WORKS

Back up first. Verify before the switch.

A route back matters if the new environment behaves differently.

Map

Identify hosting, domain, email, databases and dependencies.

Preserve

Take appropriate backups and confirm access to the destination.

Prepare

Transfer and configure the website, then test critical functions.

Switch

Change the agreed records and verify the live website and affected services.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Useful things to know before starting.

Does moving hosting move my email automatically?

No. Website and mailbox data are separate. Tell me whether email is staying with the current provider or moving so mail routing and message transfer can be planned.

Can you guarantee no downtime?

No. The aim is to minimise disruption with preparation and testing, but DNS caching, provider restrictions and the existing setup can affect cutover.

What access will you need?

Typically access to the current and destination hosting, relevant databases and domain or DNS management. Mailbox access may be needed for an agreed email migration. I confirm the required access for your specific move.

Do I have to transfer my domain registration?

Not necessarily. A hosting move can often use the existing registrar with DNS changes. Domain registration, nameservers and hosting are separate decisions that should be agreed before the move.
